A long-awaited return home to CAM Jazz for Javier Girotto, this time in a unique project where he is co-leader with Neapolitan pianist Francesco Nastro—writer of all the songs except two. A project in which the personalities of the two artists come together to create a work of great beauty. Girotto's unmistakable language meets that of Francesco Nastro—an interlocutor who knows how to observe but also how to convey—offering great ideas and high-level technique.
As the highly-esteemed drummer Peter Erskine, who has had occasion to work with Nastro several times, says of this duo: "They sound as though they were meant to play together, and the good news is that they met to record this album and document their singular approach to duo playing. I believe this to be a unique project, one that reflects new light on the art of the duet."
