Tatsu Kisaragi was born in Tokyo on April 5, 1964.

In the days of junior high school, he was touched off by British Rocks (such as Red Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, Free and The Who), and started playing the guitar.

He was playing at nightclubs in Tokyo at his high school days.

He went to Britain in the winter of 1988. He formed the band "POWER FOOL" with the British, and performed at nightclubs in London. And then, he returned home two years later. In those days, he was interested in the Jazz Fusion (especially its guitarists like Bill Frisell, John Scofield and Pat Metheny), and entered Berklee College of Music in Boston in the United States in the summer of 1993.

He studied under Jerry Bergonzi, Mick Goodrick, George Garzone, Mark White, Brett Wilmot, Jim Kelly and Ed Tommasi, etc.

He was playing at nightclubs and hotels in Boston while he was highly regarded as "KISARAGI TATSU QUINTET" in the school.

Meanwhile, he deepened friendships with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Rick Peckham, Peter Nylander, Bobby Rogers, and his greatest teacher, Jerry Bergonzi.

He graduated from the guitar performance department of Berklee College of Music by the excellent record in the spring of 1996.

He was studying under Jerry Bergonzi (saxophone player) in two years about the foul water and the improvisation while in school. He returned to Japan in 1997.

His quintet and trio are now performing lives at nightclubs in Tokyo and the suburbs of Tokyo.

The first hall recital was held in the Bunkyo Civic Hall last year, and he had tremendous success.

The readers of "Swing Journal" magazine elected him as the tenth place in the guitarist section in 2002.

Up to now, he has released three leader albums.
