JAZZ.FM91 Broadcasting Nikki Yanofsky Live From The Blue Note in New York City

JAZZ.FM91 is thrilled to announce a live broadcast of multiple Juno Award nominee, Nikki Yanofsky, from the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City on Wednesday, January 26th at 8:30PM.

"It has been my hope for some years to develop a relationship with The Blue Note in New York City, so that from time to time JAZZ.FM91 can broadcast concerts from this esteemed venue. I am excited that our very first Live-to-Air from The Blue Note will feature incredibly talented Canadian artist, Nikki Yanofsky," said Ross Porter, President and CEO.

Since its inception in 1981, The Blue Note has become one of the premier jazz clubs in the world and a cultural institution in Greenwich Village. Jazz fans across the globe travel to The Blue Note to hear live jazz. It is not uncommon to see the likes of Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli, and Quincy Jones get called up on stage from the audience to sit in.

Nikki Yanofsky's first studio album, Nikki, was released by Decca Records in the spring of 2010.The album opened in Canada in the top 5 and achieved gold sales status within 3 months. In the United States, Nikki debuted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Produced by 14-time Grammy Award-winner Phil Ramone, and Grammy-Award winner Jesse Harris (Norah Jones), Nikki features new arrangements of classic jazz songs as well as some of Nikki's first original music. It includes collaborations with Harris and celebrated Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith, as well as a song written for Nikki by Feist.

To stream Nikki Yanofsky live from The Blue Note, visit JAZZ.FM91 online at www.jazz.fm.

JAZZ.FM91 has been called "One of the Best Radio Stations in the World" by BusinessWeek, and is Canada's only registered not-for-profit radio station dedicated to the jazz community and music education.
