Is anyone playing the drums with more vitality and purpose than octegenarian Jimmy
Cobb is? The answer is probably not. Cobb is, of course, most famous as the drummer
on Miles Davis' all-time, bestselling recording, Kind of Blue, but his 50+ year
career also includes many other highlights such as stints with Dinah Washington,
Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday, Wes Montgomery, and Sarah Vaughn, just to name
a few.
This weekend engagement will feature his swinging quartet in particularly festive
form as Jimmy celebrates his 82nd birthday.
