Marcello Mameli was born in 1981 in Cagliari. He begins learn drum at the age of 14, with the teacher Efisio Fais, percussionist of The Lyric Theater in Cagliari, where he starts to learn technical and musical rudiments.

At the age of 18 moved to Rome to attend the UM (Music University), where he improved his sound and his technique with the most famous national and international jazz artists.

In 2003 attended International Winter Jazz Workshop in Nuoro with Francesco Sotgiu and also International Summer Workshop with Ettore Fioravanti.

In 2004 instead moved to Siena Jazz, the most important International jazz workshop in Italy, attending high level courses with Ettore Fioravanti and Massimo Manzi. He also attended Conservatory Jazz Courses in Cagliari for three years with Roberto Pellegrini and many master classes with: Airto Moreira, Gianni Cazzola, Tommy Campbell, Roberto Gatto, Ettore Fioravanti, Ellade Bandini, Massimo Manzi, Dave Weckl, Marco Volpe, Stefano Bagnoli

Starts his professional career at the age of 19 performing in Italy and foreign countries.

He played in many Clubs, Theaters and Jazz Festivals including:
