Ligabue was born in Lodi. He has been living in Piacenza since he was 8.
He began to play at the age of 7. His father who was a professional musician and
singer as well, passed on Giuliano his love for music. Grown up in a family of musicians,
as a child Giuliano listened to lots of music and was inspired by many different
genres, such as Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, Bossa Nova.

began to study jazz guitar and he mainly specialized in the swing style.
In 2006, Giuliano was the finalist in the national
contest for young jazz talents, organized by Piacenza Jazzclub.
In 2008, Giuliano seriously approached singing,
treasuring his father's lessons. He quickly improved his vocal technique and began
to perform as a singer and guitarist, singing classical songs of
Frank Sinatra,
Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin and many others.
At the same time he approached the seven strings guitar, inspired by great artists
like George Van Eps, Howard Alden, Bucky and
John Pizzarelli.

Benny Goodman,
Frank Sinatra
and many others) and with his son
John Pizzarelli
gave Giuliano new motivation to master the seven strings guitar, which he often
uses in his performances.
