Italian singer, guitarist, arranger and composer. Giuliano Ligabue was born in Lodi. He has been living in Piacenza since he was 8.

He began to play at the age of 7. His father who was a professional musician and singer as well, passed on Giuliano his love for music. Grown up in a family of musicians, as a child Giuliano listened to lots of music and was inspired by many different genres, such as Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, Bossa Nova.

In 2001, with the help of his father, he seriously began to study jazz guitar and he mainly specialized in the swing style.
In 2006, Giuliano was the finalist in the national contest for young jazz talents, organized by Piacenza Jazzclub.
In 2008, Giuliano seriously approached singing, treasuring his father's lessons. He quickly improved his vocal technique and began to perform as a singer and guitarist, singing classical songs of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin and many others.

At the same time he approached the seven strings guitar, inspired by great artists like George Van Eps, Howard Alden, Bucky and John Pizzarelli.

The fortunate encounter with the legendary Bucky Pizzarelli (guitarist of Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra and many others) and with his son John Pizzarelli gave Giuliano new motivation to master the seven strings guitar, which he often uses in his performances.

In 2012 Giuliano founded his own Trio: the Giuliano Ligabue Trio, with Michele Mazzoni on bass and Mario Zara on piano. Giuliano arranging and playing his repertoire from the American Songbook classics and performing in many clubs, private events, jazz clubs and festivals.
In 2013 he recorded the album "Swing Affair" with his own drumless trio. The album received a very positive feedback both in Italy and abroad.

After the release of "Swing Affair", lots of important collaborations with Italian and international musicians started. We can mention Mattia Cigalini, Stefano Caniato, Gianni Azzali, Michele Franzini, Walter Ganda, Alessandro Bertozzi, Paolo Tomelleri (the great clarinettist and saxophonist who played with Tony Scott, Clark Terry, Joe Venuti, Enzo Jannacci and Giorgio Gaber, just to mention a few), Simon Woolf, Richard Pite and Frank Griffith.
Also, Giuliano Ligabue started another important collaboration with the renowned American pianist John Colianni (pianist for Mel Tormé, Lionel Hampton, Les Paul and Woody Allen).
Giuliano Ligabue has made a tour in the United Kingdom, in August 2016, with the John Colianni Trio, performing with great success mainly in London, in the most renown Jazz Clubs.

After a period of intensive study where he expanded his knowledge in arranging for large ensemble under the guidance of M° Giuseppe Parmigiani, In the summer 2016 Giuliano presented at the Summertime in Jazz Festival, organized by the "Piacenza Jazz Club", his new project, Giuliano Ligabue & Swing Band: a wind section composed of four musicians, Gianni Satta (trumpet), Cristiano Boschesi (trombone), Alessandro Bertozzi (alto sax), Andrea Zermani (tenor sax) and a sound rhythm section formed by Stefano Caniato (piano), Michele Mazzoni (bass), Marco Orsi (drums) and of course, Giuliano Ligabue (vocals, guitar and arrangements).
