New Album - Fabio Marziali Ny 5et - Windows And Lights (2018) Young jazz saxophonist Fabio Marziali has released his new album recorded in New York in June 2017 with a stellar band (JONATHAN KREISBERG on guitar, GLENN ZALESKI on piano, MATT CLOHESY on d.Bass and COLIN STRANAHAN on drums). 9 tracks of original compositions of Marziali for more than one hour of music.
After winning several awards (Premio Massimo Urbani, European Jazz Contest, Fara Music Live Contest and Giovani Talenti Città di Bergamo) as a soloist or with his former band, Unicam Jazz 4et, Fabio moved to Amsterdam to study a two years master program with international teachers. Fabio has been the first Italian to complete such course and he obtained the master in 2015 with 9/10.
Windows and lights is his most ambitious project and he has been working on it for the past 2 years. Music has been inspired by the sounds of contemporary jazz in the Big Apple but maintaining a European touch, sometimes borrowing from the classical landscape (Fabio got a classical bachelor in saxophone in his teens), sometimes from electronic music (having also released 3 albums of electronic music himself), from minimalism and from rock.
