La "swing era" non è stata, come la maggior parte delle persone credono,
solo l'era delle big bands come quelle di Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie
e Bennie Goodman ma anche il periodo dei piccoli gruppi swing di 4/6 elementi: le
formazioni che accompagnavano Billie Holiday, il quartetto di Bennie Goodman, i
gruppi di Don Byas, Cootie Williams, di Lester Young e di Coleman Hawkins ne sono
un esempio.
I Jumping Jive ricreano questo sound con una serie di melodie indimenticabili
di autori come Georgie Gershwin (A Foggy Day, Oh Lady Be Good,
But not for me), Cole Porter (Night And Day, Easy to love), Richard
Rodgers (My romance, This can't be love), Duke Ellington (Sophisticated
Lady, Prelude to a kiss) e Antonio Carlos Jobim (The girl of Ipanema,
Desafinado, How insensitive).
La formazione può arricchirsi della splendida voce di Francesca Caratozzolo,
Daniela Panetta
o Francesca Berlinzani.
Il gruppo si esprime in maniera "discreta" e soft oppure swingante e sonora
a seconda del luogo e dell'occasione ove è chiamato ad esibirsi.
La formazione va da un minimo di 3 ad un massimo di 7 elementi e si presentano
in giacca e cravatta.
