 Inizia
a suonare la batteria nel 1988 influenzato dallo
stile e dal "groove" di Jeff Porcaro (Toto) ma anche da batteristi più blasonati
come Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, Stewart Copeland e Dennis Chambers, C.Wackerman, T.Brechtlein,
J.Baron e poi B.Stewart and S.Phillips.
Batterista essenzialmente autodidatta (qualche lezione presa alla scuola
di musica Thelonious di Vicenza) si può considerare musicista estremamente a suo
agio in diversi stili musicali: jazz, fusion, blues, funk, rock, pop, acid, progressive.
Il primo demo a portare la sua firma per quanto riguarda esecuzione, composizione,
arrangiamento è POLLUTION del 1996.
Nel 1999 ha dedicato circa due anni della
propria formazione essenzialmente al jazz…mentre dal 2000
ha iniziato a registrare e collaborare via internet con the Funkdawgs
(la prima internet fusion band al mondo)… ma anche con diversi altri musicisti sparsi
in tutto il mondo, registrando più di 120 brani, distribuiti quasi esclusivamente
via internet... Molti di questi hanno scalato le classifiche di ascolto sui più
importanti portali mp3 del mondo (www.mp3.com, www.vitaminic.com ed altri) o sono
diventati eventi di ascolto speciali come prime produzioni musicali online su radio
di Londra (Solar Radio), Parigi e Perth.
Il CD Cyber friends
prodotto dalla cantante sassofonista americana Peggy Morris
è stato nella top 10 dei cd jazz più venduti su mp3.com (ora download music.com).

Nine by Five della Skyefilms di New York (tutto il

www.drummer.it). Ancora nel
2007 vince assieme ai Funkdawgs il contest come migliore
band virtuale indetto dal Net Music Maker web site di Jeff Tamelier (Tower Of Power)
Filippo registra le sue tracce usando di base tre drums sets
nel suo studio a Vicenza, fornisce tracce professionali per numerosi progetti, produzioni,
provini. Si dedica ora quasi esclusivamente alle collaborazioni via internet. Sono
più di 40 i musicisti con i quali ha collaborato in questi 5 anni ed annovera il
maggior numero di collaborazioni, dopo i Funkdawgs, con il geniale chitarrista e
compositore americano Carl Eichman
(protagonisti assieme al bassista Bill Lawrence del Hidden
Symmetry project www.ceemusic.com).
Filippo probabilmente è stato il primo batterista al mondo a sperimentare
questo nuovo tipo di collaborazioni e produzioni senza frontiere. Ama esplorare
il modo più libero assoluto di suonare differenti stili come mai ha fatto prima.
Grazie alla rete internet può finalmente esprimere tutta la sua musicalità ad un
vastissimo parterre di musicisti in tutto il mondo.
